This week Denon launched the much anticipated 1007 firmware that brings a number of enhancements to it’s MC6000 MIDI controller when used with Traktor Pro 2. The new update brings control for TP2′s loop recorder and sample player which we feel now brings the MC6000 in line with Native Instruments’ own S4 controller.

Also due in July is a revamp of Denon’s popular DN-HP500 headphones which will now be available in WHITE.

One thing you may notice about the HP-500′s are that they are remarkably similar to the Allen & Heath Xone XD-40 headphones which comes as no surprise seeing as that both Denon and Allen & Heath are owned by the same company. The main difference being that the A&H version have a coiled cable and a “screw in” 3.5mm to 1/4″ adapter whereas the Denon version have a straight un-coiled cable at a simple plug-in adapter.
Here’s the blurb from Denon…
The DN-HP500S combines high sound quality and a stylish rugged design, comfortable to wear over long periods.
Large 40mm neodymium drivers produce exceptional signal clarity and high SPL handling, with extended, punchy bottom end. The closed earpieces provide good signal isolation and feature a 90-degree swivel mechanism.
The lightweight design, with well padded ear pads and headband makes these headphones a comfortable wear for prolonged use.
Here’s the official website for them – http://www.dm-pro.eu/en/denondj/products/83/dn-hp500s-white-headphones/
As for what to expect to pay for them? Hard to say, the black versions range from £50 to £89 depending where you shop and no doubt there will be a slight premium as they are new…and white.
Hopefully Gary will bring some to our July ShowNight for you to play around with!
