Steve and his company, First Dance DJs, have provided a professional mobile disco service for Weddings and Civil Partnerships in Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex and surrounding areas for nearly 20 years.

Our goal is to provide high quality, reliable entertainment and to offer customer service and satisfaction that is second to none. We are passionate about mobile DJing and strive to improve the general public's poor perception of the stereotypical "cheesy mobile disco".

The business is run by Steve Hoare (AKA DJ Steve James) who has over 15 years experience in the entertainment industry working for many corporate & private clients. Steve has played at 100's of functions for many satisfied clients and has worked at events with audiences as small as 16 to as large as 2000+.

An early interest in music and radio lead Steve to being offered the chance to DJ at a Wedding when only 16. This was an amazing opportunity and a very useful insight to the world of the mobile DJ and the complexity's of running a successful DJ business. The reception went very well and the mobile DJ bug had well and truly bitten!

Over the following years Steve developed his skills as an excellent party DJ and polished MC at a wide range of events for numerous private and corporate clients and also spent 5 years acting as the DJ/Announcer for the Guildford Flames Ice Hockey team. This involvement led to further work in TV and Radio.

His musical tastes are varied although he does have a particular passion for Disco, 90's Dance, Soul & Motown!

We offer flexible services that suit most budgets and can supply a wide range of DJs including party DJs (who cover all genres), and club DJs who (as well as providing great party music), can also mix seamlessly styles such as house, garage, trance & R&B. We can also source mobile DJs who specialise in different genres such as Indie/Alternative, Golden Oldies, Ceroc and many more!
