With mince pies on the tables and music playing we welcomed are Members and guests to our last SEDA ShowNight of 2022, held as normal at The Moat in Wrotham on Sunday 20th November 2022. There was a great turnout with many regular visitors and a few guests, all ready to see what was on offer.

We opened the night to a full venue and started off with Sean Smyth and Ape Labs. Sean demonstrated the Ape Labs Maxi V2. These are a great piece of kit, fully DMX able, with a full colour spectrum, can be controlled by IOS & Android Apps, perfect uplights that can come all contained in their own tour pack (Includes charging cable, remote and a flightcase.). These are battery powered units that can last 14 hours.

Clive Hodghton of CRS1 was up next as the Retailer of the night. Clive had arrived with a vast amount of stock, some new, some old and had some great bargains on the night, from Flightcases to BOSE speakers. Clive also gave us a demo to show the difference between the Bose S1 Pro and the EV Everse 8. Both are battery powered speakers that have Bluetooth and cable connectivity. The range of the speakers was very impressive.

Danny Butler of 247DJ’s also joined us to demo the latest in Photo/Video booths. He had the 360-video platform and an LCD Display Selfie Pod. This was a great draw to the members as you can have advertising on the screen below the iPad. Fantastic way off showing offers and services. After showing off these we were treated to something new. The 360 Skybooth. (The only one in the country!!) Suspended below a truss bridge the 360 Skybooth allows people to stand in a group and get an arial video of themselves, a bit like the 360-video pod but from above. This looks like it could be the next photo trend for events.

The SEDA raffle was a great hit as we had loads of SEDA Merchandise as prizes from beanie hats to fleeces. Lots of prizes were given out, including the SEDA mug, SEDA water bottle, some Music DVD from Kel Sweeney of Promo Only and the Famous “Sticks to Everything” Gaffa Tape, and a nice sum raised for our chosen charity (RNID Action On Hearing Loss).

We were treated to music throughout the ShowNight from our Members Show. Tonight, was the turn of David O’Regan (DJ_Daveo), and his style of music. From the Club scene to Parties David has a lot of music knowledge and we were kept entertained all evening.

To finish the event, we had our SEDA Essentials Top 10, hosted by Brian Mole and the willing victim, sorry participant, was Tony Thomas and his chance to highlight his top 10 Soul, RnB, and Dance floor fillers at the SEDA Shownight. He had an excellent choice, and his list can be found here.

We hope everyone has an enjoyable and fun festive season and we will see you at our next ShowNight on Sunday 22nd January 2023.
